PARISH NEWS
MULTI PURPOSE HALL update 7th April 2008
The new hall is coming along and the roof should be put up this week.
New carpet will be laid in the church and hall in early May and work on the Devotional Chapel in St Francis Xavier church begins next week.
CONSECRATION OF ST FRANCIS XAVIER CHURCH
On Wednesday May 28th at 7pm Archbishop Denis Hart will celebrate the consecration of St Francis Xavier Church. With the completion of the multi-purpose room this means that the Church can be set aside for only worship and prayer. As part of this preparation a new wooden statue of St Francis Xavier is being carved and 4 icons of the gospel writers will be placed alongside the consecration candles and cross.
When the new altar is consecrated there will be placement of relics in the altar.
Fr John has collected 2 relics for the altar, they are St Anastasia. a 3rd century Roman Saint and St Ignatius of Antioch, a 2nd century Saint.
