The Right of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) provides an introductory course on Catholicism and a journey of initiation for new Catholics.
An interesting journey; sharing life experiences, delving into history and deep truths, experiencing the grandeur of St Patrick's Cathedral, the quiet times of prayer and reflection and culminates each year in the Easter ceremonies, followed by a time of introduction to and immersion in the life of the parish.
There is a team of 5 people who guide the participants through the course answering their questions about the Catholic Faith and inducting them into the community.
RCIA is coordinated by Len Monk, Marlo Drake, Sandy Clarke, Diane Saliba, and Alan McMahon .
Our 2010/2011 programme is now beginning with an Enquiry night on Thursday 12th August 2010, 7.30pm in the Ron Lowe room Corio. We will then continue with three meetingsper month (dates will be advised) and the team looks forward to working with the new members towards a better understanding of the Catholic faith.
