Catholic Parish of Corio/Lara

The Right of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) provides an introductory course on Catholicism and a journey of initiation for new Catholics.

An interesting journey; sharing life experiences, delving into history and deep truths, experiencing the grandeur of St Patrick's Cathedral, the quiet times of prayer and reflection and culminates each year in the Easter ceremonies, followed by a time of introduction to and immersion in the life of the parish. 

There is a team of 6 people who guide the participants through the course answering their questions about the Catholic Faith and inducting them into the community.

RCIA is coordinated by Len Monk,  Marlo Drake, Bernie Hyland, Diane Saliba, and Leon Pollard & Jack Shaman.

Our 2011/2012 programme is in full swing helping our 9 candidates prepare for Baptism and Confirmation at Easter. The team will walk with the candidates as they learn of the Catholic faith. 

The Rite of Election will be signed by each candidate at the Ash Wednesday in the 2012 service and we will all travel to St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne for the Rite of Election service on the following Sunday.

Baptism and Cinfirmation will be celebrated at Easter.
